The producer of this The Conjuring franchise (2013-2018: total 5 films), James Wan who is well know for SAW franchise (2004-2017; total 8 films) is no doubt that the best horror filmmaker in the present film industries.
You can find the image of The Nun is extremely similar to Mr. Barlow in The Salem`s Lot (1979). The Nun is un doubted that it imitated Mr. Barlow`s monster image.
However, this film overly used jump scary tricks throughout the entire film with heavy sound effects which cause head ache among audiences.
Moreover, the script logic is problematic that when Father Burke and Sister Irene investigate the Romanian ancient Carta Monastery, the first encounter with the Abbess and easy acceptance of stay at the attached convent is too careless, and unusual when Frenchie who was a food supplier to the nuns said the place has been cursed and no body close the territory.
Its plotting sloppiness itself is a miracle to link not logically gathered pieces of sequences that follow.
Especially Father Burke and Sister Irene blindly believe and treat the dead nuns as live people is another miracle narrative fabrication.
Audience is hard to be persuaded in this logical failure.
Besides these, other fatal logical failure is that additional inserted episode of failed exorcism on Daniel, by this episode, the director Corin Hardy tried to make comparison and linkage with Father Lankester Merrin of The Exorcist (1973), or Father Morning of The Exorcist III (1990).
On the contrary, the exorcism of Valak / The Nun is unexpectedly not fully engaged between Father Burke and Valak / The Nun.
For jumping scare, this trick is from The Ju-On (2004: US). And it`s heavily used to scare audiences.
This is directorial sin in this film. However, you have to mention that there are truly scary spooky atmosphere, well crafted Gothic art solutions, acting is also realistic, no sloppy acting.
Furthermore, Dracula-like story setting in Romania with minimal characters involved is something cinematic and make audiences to expect horrific Gothic horror taste of this film.
The true horror film principle is described by Christopher Lee, `Don`t show a monster too many times. It should be kept in minimal. True horror is that something makes you scare to open the door psychologically, e.g. The Haunting (1963).
Sean S. Cunningum also mentioned the minimalist theory of horror filmmaking. Moreover, he referred the solution of JAWS(1975) is its example.
In The Nun (2018), the best solution is when Father Burke feels Valak watching their arrival to the monastery and it shows a quick short cutaway of Valak leaving from the window.

Although there are actual advantages of this film in art dimensions, this is a religious/ Catholic propaganda film, and every thing the protagonists should do is pray, pray and pray......And the Catholic warriors` massacre is justified through this religious propaganda.
And the blood of Jesus is a science fictional device to end Valak. The Nuns pray for The Nun, pray for the box office hit. Just only pray for God to save themselves.

Okay lets talk a bit about the German movie "Heimliche Liebe - Der Schüler und die Postbotin" from 2005. The two protagonists here are Kostja Ullmann and Marie Bäumer and you find more known faces in supporting roles like Möhring, Messner and Kanies. For everybody, it just has to be the worst film of their career. So yeah the cast is not too bad for a 90-minute small screen movie. The director is Franziska Buch and as I enjoyed her later work "Hier kommt: Lola" a lot I will just say in her favor that she is not the one to blame for this mess. The one who is, at least partially, is writer Silke Zertz and looking at her work here I am shocked to see she is still finding work as a writer these days. I hope for audiences everywhere that she improved a lot in the last decade. The general story here is about a teenage boy who falls in a love with a mail woman. More details will follow.
This movie has so so many garbage unrealistic scenes and I will mention all I remember now hoping I will forget it as quickly as possible. First example: the use of mathematics. He solves mathematics tasks during sex so he won`t come before her. He easily solves mathematics tasks at school while not even listening to the teacher. He makes his A-Level in what at the end? 30 minutes for something that is supposed to take 4 hours? Not even Einstein could have done it. The spread your legs scene in the grass? Oh yeah how funny, these pics are for school. Oh how smart, let the female protagonist use grammatically wrong phrases on several occasions to show how she is lower class. The title is incorrect too playing with a subject of taboos because actually everybody knows relatively quickly about the affair. They aren`t even trying to hide it. What do you do when your almost 40-year-old girlfriend of eight years cheats on you with an 18-year-old? That`s right, you go marry her. Of course not a coincidence at all that this takes place during the day of the A-Levels. And while we are at it why not include a cheating relationship about the boy`s mother too? On a side-note, Ullmann played pretty much at the exact time in another movie where he played a boy with a SM relationship to his probation officer played by Maren Kroymann, a women even much older than Bäumer. What is wrong with people??? Admittedly Kroymann was at least giving a decent performance there and this is something you will not find in Bäumer at all, even if she is admittedly pretty attractive for her age. Or was. Oh and what`s with the indication that all of a sudden he has something possibly going on with that Asian chick at the end? All this after all these confessions of love from both sides to each other. Or the cringeworthy scene when she just exposes herself to a voyeur early on, namely the main character. What a likable duo these two are and how well they fit each other. And isn`t it romantic to steal love letters from people instead of delivering them? So sweet. Also makes very much sense that she loves the romance still existing in letters if she robs the letters from those who still use letters to express their love to each other. Besides, it is also a crime and how hasn`t she been fired yet? Seriously.
So yeah this film is a mess and it`s probably really difficult to find another film that is on an equally high level of garbage from Germany from the 21st century and this comes somebody who has seen really really many films from this country and time as you can see in my review list. Extremely embarrassing stuff here and I am sure Cat Stevens would sue the people who made this if he knew for what kind of crap they used his pretty great music for. But there are people who should be even more ashamed than the ones who made this, namely the ones who gave awards attention to this 1.5-hour "film". Seriously what the heck? Günter Strack must be turning in his grave if he knew what kind of performances get honored with an award that is named after him. Finally, the best way to summarize this film apart from just saying it is a horrible horrible movie is to say it is a movie that may be about a complicated love relationship, but at the very same time it is a film that is for very easily entertained people, for people with a very simple mindset who deem themselves intelligent perhaps, but don`t even recognize all that is wrong here, don`t even recognize all the crap, even if it is shoved right into their faces. So yeah, if you love RTL afternoon television, then this is the perfect film for you. Like the guy who wrote the summary here on IMDb, which is as factually incorrect as I would expect it when it comes to respecting facts from somebody like that. The female character was not married to her boyfriend at all.

If I`ve to keep it short - the movie is really, really bad.
There are plenty of jokes, plenty, even when yo don`t want one. These jokes are true to Deadpool, but that`s it. They are the jokes Deadpool would crack, but most of the time they missed the mark and were not even remotely funny.
There`s absolutely no story in the movie, none at all. On top of that if you`ve watched all the trailers, watching movie is worthless. The entire story is - Ajax converted Wade into Deadpool, Deadpool searched him to fix his face and once it`s cleared that Ajax is not going to do that, Deadpool killed him. Yeah, entire 10 minutes stretched into a almost 2 hour movie. On top of that, for some reason Ajax kidnaps Pool`s girlfriend and sets target on his back.
It makes no sense.
Apart from jokes, Deadpool also has inner voice, but not in this movie. He`s most of the time blabbering to himself because of that, making it much more unfunny.
There cannot be much said about the movie as it`s just extended trailer done badly.

Everything about this movie is cringe. Predictable plot, bad humor. It`s just not Kim possible at all. Kim possible is an unrealistic cartoon that would be very difficult to make live action without ruining it. I can barely make it through the movie without turning it off. I know the rating is harsh but Kim possible was perfection and they took it and screwed it up. No. No. No.

My only guide to this movie was IMDb ratings which I`m sorry to say but are either being used ONLY by people with very low standards for movies or are somehow rigged.
I`m giving it 3 stars for whatever little entertainment value it had.
Movie begins by showing a regular guy spending good time with his girl friend. But he is not really a regular guy, he is a legendary baddie who criminals tell each other about as their bed time horror stories. Mafia is so scared of him, they call him the "boogeyman". Yet, armed burglars get inside his house and take him by surprise without any resistance from him.
But wait, he is a ghost, a shadow-man ... yet when he doesn`t have a gun, he might as well put on a t-shirt that says `piñata` because even lamers are beating the crap out of him all the time.
But wait, he is fast, he is ruthless and he is on a revenge mission ... yet rivals keep slipping out of his hands, he can`t shoot anything unless the target somehow presents itself two feet from his pistol and he needs to be continually rescued by his only true friend who "our hero" doesn`t give a damn about.
I think what failed this movie, for me, was the script. Period.

Pretty hard to sit through. I can watch the first MI film every time it`s on TV but this was pretty awful. Riding a motorcycle 100MPH through Paris with no helmet (in the wrong direction!!) hitting a car at 40 MPH, bouncing a few times and then brushing yourself off before dashing away? Really? This is the stuff for video games, not movies. Who, apart from a 15-year-old boy, is going to believe any of this stuff? You can tell many of the reader reviews are fake because, as smart as the studio assistants think they are being, they still start their "reviews" with lines like: "The finest action movie of the year..." and "one of the best actions movies ever made..." Really?? Real user reviews are quite different and usually start out like: "This movie was pretty good but..." or "Something about MI was weird..." The final blow to mind-numbing boredom came when Cruise (who`s getting way to old to be doing this stuff) finds himself in a helicopter and not only manages to fly it but fly it like a stuntman for 10 minutes through the most difficult Himalayan canyons and, Terminator-like, figures out the "altimeter, check, speed check..." how hard can it be right?

SYNOPSIS: Jack Sparrow, a freewheeling 19th-century pirate, quarrels with a rival pirate bent on pillaging Port Royal. When the governor`s daughter is kidnapped, Sparrow decides to help the girl`s love save her.
A damn good movie. One of the best of 2003 in my view.
This movie made me laugh, and it really pulled me in.
At first I was afraid this would be another bad Pirate movie. I went to see it anyway, as I`ve always loved the legends of pirates, and I love adventure. I saw it once. Then twice. Then Quadrupul. Then six times. And one more 7. And now I eagerly wait for the DVD in Australia.
What i`m saying is I couldn`t get enough of this movie. It was so well done.
Johnny Depp was hilarious a Jack Sparrow, and acted like a true Pirate. His obsessive drinking antics, and his walk really brought out this chaqracter. Plus he made character we could all love and enjoy, that deserves an Oscar in my view.
Geoffrey Rush played Barbosa the bad guy. Who turned out to be quite a good bad guy in my view. He showed real potential, and I loved the way how he manipulated people.
Keira Knightley plays Elizabeth, the governor`s daughter. Prisoner of the Pirates. She is quite momorable in this role, and is a great jump for her evergrowing popularity.
Orlando Bloom plays Will Turner. A simple blacksmith, who is also a well trained swordsman. Who is in hot pursuit of saving Elizabeth from the Pirates.
The more memorable thing about this though is the curse. A well thought out curse. That can always lead to sequel or a prequel. You`ll see what I mean when you watch it.
The story is based on these Pirates who happen to be cursed, and they want to rid the curse. To do that they need the blood of a pirate, not just any pirate but the son of Bill Turner- William Turner. Mistaken for Bill Turner`s child the pirates Capture Elizabeth, and take her hostage, while William teams up with a Rogue pirate, Jack Sparrow, who is on a streak for revenge against Barbosa. While all at the same time are being chased by the british fleet.
A great adventure. Well played swordfighting. Great laughs. Great music. And great story. Pirates are back in my good book.

We expected this to be as fast paced as the first one. Very slow narration and at times dragging with too many slow side stories. Action not as fast paced and impactful as the first one. Can wait for it on HBO. Cant believe the director Antoine Fuqua is the same on this one ! Denzel Washington is good but not at his best.
